1. The Lost Sea Adventure

America's Largest Underground Lake, the Lost Sea is a Registered National Landmark as well as a Civil War Trail Marker and America's Largest Underground Lake. Tours through the cavern include a boat ride on the Lost Sea and take approximately one hour and fifteen minutes. It's about a 1-hour 30-minute drive. Listed in the Guinness Book of Records!

 

2. Harrah's Cherokee Casino

Situated in Cherokee, NC, just south of GSMNP, Harrah’s features a thrilling 150,000 square foot casino, rejuvenating amenities, delectable dining choices, and top-notch entertainment. The city of Cherokee is a nice destination as with a bunch of cultural sites and is home to the Cherokee Indian Tribe.

 

3. Tennessee Valley Railroads

Approximately a two-hour drive from Pigeon Forge, you can take one of their many train routes, including a Christmas train, a loop around the Hiwassee River Gorge, or a dinner train. Check out their website! The train might leave from Chattanooga or Delano.

 

4. Fontana Lake

The 29-mile long, lake has more than 240 miles of shoreline. And its deep, cold waters provide the ideal habitat for a variety of fish. In fact, record size muskie and walleye have been pulled from its depths. So consider making the 2 hour scenic drive and renting a boat to fish or picnic along is beautiful shores.
