What to Expect During the 2014 Gatlinburg Craftsmen’s Fair

One of the most popular Smoky Mountain traditions is back for 2014! From July 18 – 27, the city of Gatlinburg will be hosting the 39th annual Craftsmen’s Fair. Featuring over 200 artisans from all around the nation, this 10 day event will have live art demonstrations, music, and some of the finest handmade gifts in the Southeast. Location and Hours

The 2014 Gatlinburg Craftsmen’s Fair will be held at the Gatlinburg Convention Center. You’ll find the convention center at 234 Historic Nature Trail by traffic light #8.


 

The fair’s hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and from 10 a.m to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $6 for adults and free for children 12 and under.

Handcrafted Souvenirs

The Craftsmen’s Fair is the perfect place to pick up handmade gifts and souvenirs! All of the artists at the fair are reviewed by a panel of experts, so you can be sure that all of the items for sale are of the highest quality. You can expect to find jewelry, paintings, pottery, stained glass, woodworking and other crafts. Guests will even have the chance to see how this amazing art is made, with live demonstrations from the craftsmen themselves.

Kids Area

New this year, the Gatlinburg Craftsmen’s Fair will feature a special children’s area. Your kids will have the chance to participate in awesome art projects like making necklaces or painting birdhouses. This free area is open to children 2 and older.

Musical Entertainment

There will be live music every day of the fair at noon, 2p.m. and 4 p.m. Dennis Lee and Tim Watson are the special guests at this year’s fair. Lee is a versatile singer who mixes comedy with his impressive musical performances. Tim “The Fiddle Man” Watson is a world class musician, who has lent his fiddle playing skills to country greats like Willie Nelson and Tammy Wynette.
