Smoky Mountain Activities: Explore a park with a Ranger

An interesting option for the novice hiker is the opportunity to hike with a park ranger in the Smoky Mountains.  These events are offered spring-fall and many special events are offered.  September 19th will be the next major event as we celebrate the fall harvest when the  Mountain Farm Museum comes to life with history.  Demonstrators provide visitors with a glimpse into the past as they make soap, apple cider, sorghum molasses, hominy, music and more.  Also, on any guided tour, you and your family can experience daily milling demonstrations.  So plan a guided trip to learn more about the elaborate Appalachian history and complete your family vacation with a stay at Bear Camp Cabins.   For more information on the different events through out the year also visit the event calendar.
