Margaritaville: A taste of Key West in the Smokies

On a recent trip to Pigeon Forge we were in search of something unique to the area (not your typical chain we find in Knoxville) and decided to check out what the Island in Pigeon Forge had to offer.  It was here we discovered Pigeon Forge has a Margaritaville! Even upon entering you instantly feel as though you've left the Smokies and landed in a tropical get away.  I must confess, I'm not a huge Jimmy Buffet fan but this restaurant has something for anyone who loves the beach, Cajun cuisine, or fresh Florida seafood.  The food and beverages were delicious.  The fish tacos were fresh and enticing.  I chose the Cheddar BBQ burger and was in heaven.  I couldn't put down this 1/2 pound burger topped with cheddar cheese, BBQ aoli, fried onions, and who can turn down bacon!  I chose to substitute regular fries with the sweet potato fries and was amazed, they were the perfect balance of crispy outside and soft inside.  We also sampled some beverages and if you're looking for a fusion of the Keys and the Smokies look no further than the blackberry moonshine margarita.  This cocktail is a combination of Ole Smoky white lightening, blackberry moonshine, & Margaritaville margarita mix.  One of the best drinks I have ever had!  The decor was also adorable.  If you're looking for some souvenirs they also have a gift shop to browse while you wait on your table.  There is plenty of Buffet played for the fans, but I was also pleased with the variety of music I heard including some of a personal favorite, Johnny Cash.  If you're looking for a great meal and a fun time Margaritaville is the place.  Be sure to check it out during your stay with Bear Camp Cabins.
